The following is a recorded conversation I had with Retired Brigadier General John Michel of the US Airforce in preparation for my book The Everyday Coach. This is a raw unscripted and authentic revelation on how coaching fits into leadership in sports, business and the military.
General Michel culminated his military service as Commanding General of NATO Air Training Command-Afghanistan; NATO Training Mission/Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan; and Commander of the 438th Air Expeditionary Wing in Kabul, Afghanistan. He has authored two books No More Mediocre Me and The Art of Positive Leadership. John’s work has been featured in a wide variety of articles & journals, including the Harvard Business Review, Investors Business Daily, Fast Company, CEO Magazine, the Washington Post, National Geographic, Joint Forces Quarterly & Huffington Post. Currently, he is the co-founder of the Avalon Leadership Institute, Partner of the Minute Man Hospitality Group, and executive director of Skyworks Global. John Michel is one of the most interesting and interested people I have ever met, and I am thrilled to share with you his insights.
